...uniform, vintage sport equipment for TV movie prop or display A vintage baseball uniform by Deacon Sports-wear, Belleville (Ontario, Canada), estimated production date is the 1930s. It has not been personalised for a team or player. It would make for a fantastic display piece in a shadow box frame, in your man cave or home cinema setup. Alternatively, the material does look strong enough to wear and it could be used as a costume in TV or movie setup. This blue on white striped uniform feels like a thinner but soft and supple wool / cotton blend material as became popular in the 1930s and 1940s. It has plenty of signs of age and use, including some staining as pictured, and a small tear on the trousers. The top looks to have all the original buttons, the shorts looks like it has none of the originals, but there are buttons in place. (top one on the waistband is cracked). It has belt loops (no belt tunnel as was introduced in 1910 - and widely adopted in the 1920s) and a zippered back pocket with some colour bleed in that area. The zipper looks to have been crudely inserted and may not have been original to the uniform design. The hem area on the short feels like there is disintegrated elastic band on the inside. The short would sit just over the player´s knees and would reach the top of their stockings. It comes with the old leather baseball included. It, too, has plenty of signs of age and wear, including discoloration, scratches and scuffs to the leather
