de Passille Sylvestre vintage modernist brooch / pin

Québec was a hotbed of modernist enamel jewelry design in the 1970s. Self-taught artisans Micheline de Passillé and her partner Yves Sylvestre were innovators in copper, silver, and gold art enamelling. Their bold jewelry and decor items are highly collectible. This vintage de Passillé-Sylvestre enamel brooch features an abstract face / visage on gold tone metal accented with deep red and salmon coloured enamel work. The brooch is signed by the artists “de Passillé-Sylvestre” and “Fait au Québec, Made in Canada” on the reverse. Good vintage condition.
