Hi! I’m Allyn and I’ve been a posher for 8 years now with over 2000 sales! I sell a lot of personal items, but also love purchasing extras of items that I own and sharing them here with you! You can think of me as your Posh stylist BFF - feel free to ask me anything, even if it’s just styling tips. I love connecting and would love to help. sweetysmiles I love your style! Love the Celine belt bag in your first picture. I am planning to purchase one, but not sure where to get the best deal/service. Where did you purchase yours? Did you purchase directly through the Celine store? Or go through another vendor?

allynallyn @sweetysmiles I got mine from celine boutique in Nordstrom but I’ve purchased several Celine bags directly from the celine boutiques that stand alone (I.e. SoHo location), and I think that’s the way to go if you’re not a frequent buyer and want great service. They keep your info in the system and generally speaking will help you if there’s issues with hardware or quality issues in general. You can’t take a celine bag to the boutique if you bought your bag elsewhere, though.

allynallyn @sweetysmiles ^ That’s one big consideration. I’ve had issues with clasps before and they were able to help me. Best deals I ever got was buying bags in Europe where they have euro pricing (Paris, for instance), and then submitting a VAT refund for 12% back post-purchase. Hope that all helps!

allynallyn @goodis Hey Wanda! Aww congrats! I'm hosting my first one tomorrow, but I found a good video on youtube and watched it to make sure I wasn't missing anything - it looks pretty simple. You'll want to find anywhere from 50 to 100 listings that fall in the right category / are from compliant closets and you'll be sharing them to the party once it begins. Because you're a host, a "share" will automatically pull them into the "host picks" section of the party (it's its own tab).

allynallyn @goodis A best practice is saving the 50 to 100 items in your “Likes” ahead of time so you have them ready to share for the party. Some people also choose to leave a comment on those ahead of time (something like “congrats! I’ve chosen this item for the party I’m co-hosting”, for example). Then you’ll just want to be ready to start sharing them when it starts!

allynallyn @goodis hey! i liked them yesterday afternoon so I could 'save' them, and then at night I used my laptop (because it's faster for me than my phone) and I copy-pasted the same message on all of my recently liked listings. Then today all I had to do was go to my Likes and Share them to the party. Super efficient! :D

allynallyn @goodis To get new users you'll have to use the App (it's a little cumbersome) - you'll want to find the section that says "New poshers" and then you can go through and find listings you want from there.

I love that you show all the angles of your items (i.e. shoes) and it's clear what condition the items are in. One thing that really helped me get started was I looked for listings similar to mine (styles, brands) and i went to see who "Liked" those. I'd then help share some items from their closets in hopes that they'd come and check out my stuff. It helped me grow visibility <3 xx

allynallyn @margaret434 Thank you so much! I'd love to share a few tips! I checked out your closet and can see you have great timeless style. A few things I'd try: 1) place your items against a very boring/plain light-colored background to make your items really POP on the screen, 2) do some searches on the items you're selling and make sure your prices are within average range so you're attracting Likes. 3) Once you have likes, use the Offer to Likers option! allynallyn @margaret434 and 4) For listings where you're selling a smaller less-known brand, you can get more visibility if you type similar larger brands in the description so your listing appears in more search results. For example, if you're listing a pair of loafers from a small less-known European designer and the loafers look like Ferragamo style, you can add that in your description "similar to Salvatore Ferragamo" - and this will help you draw viewers who like Ferragamo style and may like yours!

allynallyn @margaret434 Thank you! A lot of people use different apps that remove the background from an image. I'd recommend a google search to find options or you can search on Youtube and watch videos where someone explains how they use different programs and go from there! If you prefer to create a plain background, I'd recommend finding a nice corner or wall of your home that gets great filtered, indirect light and setting it up as a dedicated photo area!

allynallyn @margaret434 I commented on one of your listings just now because I think it's a great example of having the item stand out against the background. If you're listing a darker item, suggest using a brighter background and vice versa can work great for a lighter one. allynallyn @margaret434 From what I've seen and heard from other Poshers, it's one of the tactics that helps increase your own visibility (you get shares back). I don't think it's any single tactic that helps, but a few of them combined seems to help (sharing, following, sharing your own)!
