The first couple of days the blanket would not heat up at all. (I can tell that the blanket is new and never used.) On the 3rd day the blanket heated up and continues to each time I try it. My husband had this exact blanket gifted to him a couple of years ago and I wanted one exactly like it. I love it! If it continues to work I will be very happy with it. The package was mailed very carefully and delivered quickly to me.
