When I heard it rattling in the box I knew something was very wrong. When I took it out, I saw one of the feet had broken off into two pieces. Splinters of wood and chips of lacquer were at the bottom of the box. This 100 year old piece deserved better. A few pieces of crumpled newspaper or an old (clean) towel or T-shirt, even an egg carton put in the box to cushion this treasure might have prevented the damage. I’m upset and disappointed. 😢
