Im not sure if your items are stored in a heavily scented area? When I opened the box it was so heavily scented I had to take it immediately outside to the trash and I had to fabreeze the shoes to help eliminate the odor. I can't handle strong odors so just letting you know as I know some people can handle strong perfumes ect.
