1960s Caribbean Queen Conch Shell

Vintage large natural queen conch seashell native to the Caribbean Sea and tropical northwestern Atlantic. This species reaches up to 13.9" in shell length. • 10" long x 8" wide • very large, solid, and heavy shell • knob-like spines on the shoulder • flared, thick outer lip • characteristic pink opening The outside of the queen conch is sandy colored. The flared lip is absent in juveniles; it develops once the snail reaches reproductive age. The thicker the shell's flared lip is, the older the conch is. Note: Very nice condition for its age.
