1960s Hand Blown Aventurine Art Glass Dish

Mid century hand-blown green and yellow swirl pattern bowl with copper and silver leaf inclusions.  Cased in white and clear glass with two way crimped rim. • No markings or labels • Smooth base with polished pontil • 6" x 5" x 2" • Excellent condition with no chips or cracks This striking vintage, unmarked piece was created using the aventurine process. This process involves rolling the molten glass in copper and silver flakes and then casing it with clear glass so the copper and silver always appears on the surface. Aventurine is a process that is very difficult to execute and was favored by Murano master glassmakers, as shown in the last photo. 4-1SM
