Real lime crime Venus palettes only say "Venus" on the back. Fakes from Ali Express say "for the Venus in you". The serial number spacing is different as well. On real ones, the numbers are close and cramped together, on fakes there's mass space between each number. Also on REAL ones, there's the cruelty free bunny logo. Fake ones still say Vegan and cruelty free but they DO NOT have the bunny logo! And always check the colors! ⭐️Made by AmandaaZoe

beckasweird
beckasweird I accidentally bought a fake one off here. I asked the seller if it was authentic and she said it was. She now has all of her listings deleted from the site. But I accepted it before I saw this. I new the colors weren't right. I'm so disappointed 😢

amandaazoe @beckasweird so sorry Ty happened to you! Every piece of make up is different and some pieces have easy up in your face noticeable tells of being fakes. some have a few small tells. i hope that never happens to you again. I'm trying to make ad many of these as possible. If you ever need need/want help with a particular brand or item, or just a 2nd opinion before a purchase, I'd be happy to help!

emmaelzinga
emmaelzinga I bought a fake one on merc and I'm in the process of trying to return it but the seller claimed it to be authentic. They knew it was fake because they posted pictures of what the product should have looked like but when I compared it with the thing I actually got it was obviously phony. Thank you so much for doing this it's super important!😊😊

amandaazoe @emmaelzinga of course! I am trying to make a lot of these covering many types of makeup that are popularly faked. Just takes a lot of time! Glad this could help you and I hope the best outcome with your situation. Not very cool of the seller!

kaylalise
kaylalise Is there a way to detect the fake from reall Venus 2 palettes?
Aug 23Reply
amandaazoe
amandaazoe @kaylalise same way. I bought a Venus II palette off of here and it did NOT say "for the Venus in you" on the back.

amandaazoe @teedeean hey just seeing this, in the future if you ever are unsure of authenticity when listing, put in the description that you are unsure of the authenticity. That way buyers who know the brand can help, and you are being upfront and honest from the start. I only know makeup brand authenticities .

closetcapers
closetcapers I had no idea there were so many fake makeup Products out there! Do they also sell fakes on Amazon and EBay?
Sep 19Reply
amandaazoe
amandaazoe @closetcapers Yep. Most of the time they get it from China and resell. You can usually tell in re asking price alone. They'll se for super cheap. These are other ways. Just about everything gets asked. ABH palettes and lipstick, lime crime, Jeffree Star, Urban Decay, it's a long list.

diazzzc7 Lime crime changed their packaging. I bought mine off the website and I still have the box they shipped it in. I still have my receipt and mine says For The Venus In You

jennilynne02 I bought mine from the lime crime website too and mine says for the Venus in you too. So this post isn't completely accurate.

pastel_sprite @diazzzc7 Same :( The one that says "For the Venus in You" seems to be older packaging...unfortunate.

kristkreep
kristkreep Thanks, for showing this. I worked in highend retail and have a degree in fashion design and sfx makeup and i bought a fake LV bag and showed the difference on another site so people could tell the difference. Hardware is one way to tell and LV uses one piece of fabric so one side the LV will be upside down, which is easy to see online. Good for you for doing this.

kristkreep
kristkreep @amandaazoe ali express is a big time seller of fake too faced and urban decay makeup palettes.

kristkreep
kristkreep @teedeean is it one piece of fabric? Like is it make of several pieces to keep the G the correct way? Look at the hard ware as well and you should have a box and dust bag and thr hardware should be sturdy and not tarnish. I know from going to school in fashion design and fashion merchandising and worked at gucci in chicago.

ckatila
ckatila @alannagstone Please view this listing. 'For the Venus in You' is part of their older packaging. I purchased from LimeCrime.com so please do not try to ruin sales by spamming fake accusations when you're not 100% sure it is. Tagging anyone else who had commented so they can see for themselves @alphakara @aganative @jenniferosette

amandaazoe @ckatila @ckatila she's right. I haven't had time to update this. But the back of older packages do say for the Venus in you. I am the original poster of this.

kdc_couture
kdc_couture Since the recommended shelf life of the palette is 24 months as printed on the back of the Venus palette. I personally wouldn't want an older palette that states "for the Venus in you" . That's how I a consumer would look at that difference. As for evaluating a fake I look for multiple missing items. For example the missing cruelty bunny logo plus the "for the Venus in you", along with odd pigmentation, & serial # printing errors. It's a collective analysis.

kdc_couture
kdc_couture I've found huge discrepancies in Lorac Mega Pro, Jeffree Star lipsticks, subtle way to yell if your ABH product is legit too. Aling with misc other makeup items.

nylonnostalgia Ok I bought one off here and the back says NEITHER of those phrases under a big red sticker that names the very specific ingredients of each shade. It looks legitimate. I wonder if this was in response to the FDA scandal? I wish I could post pics
