I have seen so many people trying to sell fake $9 monarch and chrysalis palettes as authentic ones and it's gotten so ridiculous that I'm making a post about it. Just because a palette has a serial number, it does NOT mean that it is authentic. BUT, authentic and real serial numbers look different. Real monarch palettes have a long ~8 character serial number on the back bottom right of the palette. Picture 1-4 are from my authentic palette. 5-6 is a fake with same design. MORE IN DESCRIPTION!

sweetpea0596 Fakes have a short serial # on the bottom left. Also, fakes have weird fitting eyeshadows; sometimes uneven or too small. Real KVD is always perfect and uniform. Authentic KVD also has a logo in the top center mirror of the palette. The first generation did not I have heard. The fakes, or at least the ones I know, do not have this. The coloration is also very different. I do not own a fake, so I cannot confirm exact differences in color

sweetpea0596 @missylynn93 yes exactly. I also noticed that the scammer has a picture this time. It's the first time that I've seen a scammer use a picture so I don't know if they're trying to make it harder to kick the accounts off posh or what 😪

sweetpea0596 @gothjew hi, I don't think the palette you were looking at is authentic.. the serial number isn't correct and it would be on the bottom right of both the box and the palette. It doesn't matter if she doesn't have he box because the serial number would still be there

penumbra @sweetpea0596 Do you know if each KVD palette has a unique serial number? Taking the Monarch palette for example, is it supposed to be that every Monarch palette has a different serial number and no two Monarch palettes should have the same number?

penumbra @sweetpea0596 I'm asking because I've been looking at the Serpentina palettes and not the Monarch ones, but I noticed that almost all the listings here on posh have the same exact serial number (6181A6132A). Seemed kind of fishy to me, but I'm not sure if every palette has a different serial number

azeebay Thanks for this post the fakes are so bad I'm hesitant to purchase make up on posh especially if the price is too good to be true, I have purchased a fake chrysalis pallet which I was able to return and get credit here on posh. But with the serpentina it was too long until I discovered it was a fake. Posh still gave me credit though. Also many of the fakes have the same serial number.

katiedid1995 The 1st generation Monarch have the serial number/batch code on the left-hand side not the right and have 8 number and 2 letters (1234z5678x as example)

suzan420 this is totally happening I just got one and it was fake I sent it back colors labeled strong not creamy colors like usual from her pallets and there wasent a serial number at all.
