@tinaonthewave they are the same cut, but the reason these one's don't look high waisted and fitting is because they are 28 and I wear 25/26. I look ridiculous in the size 29's, so I used the picture of me modeling a 26, how they're supposed to fit. If you measure around your waist and around your hips and tell me how tall you are I can recommend the best fit for you :).

Hi! I'm interested in a few of your styles but I'm not quite sure which would be the best. I want something high waisted, but I'm also an hourglass figure and have never tried a "straight leg" jean on. I'm also curious which styles are the most flattered for the 🍑

@kivlis hi!! Well, if you know your measurements, that's the best way to get a perfect fit! I'm a bit of an hourglass too with measurements of 24" true waist, 25" around bellybutton, 35" hips, 5'6.5" so you can compare. 501's are the usual favorite but they're a unisex jean so for us hourglass types a rare vintage women's fit 501 is the best (and higher waist) of that cut. @kivlis 550's are the typical tapered mom Jean. High, small waist, roomier hips for larger bums, and looser legs. 512's have the highest waist of all and the closest resemblance to a "skinny jean" if you get a slim tapered 512. (Some 512's are also straight leg).

@kivlis the most flattering thing for the bum is to get a nearly exact fit around waist and hips. You can always take them to your tailor to the the legs slimmed as much as you want, and that's usually not a terribly complicated or expensive adjustment.

My waist is 24/24.5", around my belly button I'm 31" and my hips at the widest point are 35". I tend to like the bum and hips area to be very fitted and not baggy, not a boyfriend fit, but not skinny jean either- I don't mind if the thighs taper a little or are looser. As you said, I think I can get them taken in if anything.
