My theory is we all have plenty of necklaces in the bottom of the jewelry box tying themselves into knots! So I sell most pendants without a necklace. It just jacks up the price. If you want to get some necklaces I have them. Clearly I could have a necklace for every pendant but that was when I realized what a waste of money it is. Also easier to store pendant and have 5 or so necklaces to change looks. FYI on how I do things.

@gramakaikai well it’s important! I don’t like heavy earrings and sometimes I’ll wear the same pair for weeks so they may be studs that must be comfortable. I wear the same watch and bracelet 24/7 365 days. Then one day I’ll change and may never wear that watch again! I hate battery and cheap watches. I’m unusual in that but I want what’s comfortable and it will go with any other jewelry.

@gramakaikai hi..they are available. I already lowered the price yesterday. I’m just finishing up tax season and it’s been a health struggle. I’m getting ready for jewelry shows and those earrings will sell quickly. I’m not going to sell them for $10 less all Posh expenses. $19 is firm. I haven’t felt well but have other blue moonstone cleaned including a great matching bracelet and ring I believe.

@staceyjaneway I’ve worked out a spreadsheet and if you know your cost say $14. Sell for $30 -20% discount less posh 20% and shipping of $1.80. Then add value of your time to list plus list your closet 3-4 times a day and other activities to make Ambassdor at $10. Then you lose $10.

@staceyjaneway however if you sell either 3 hot items at $30 or one at $90 you can make a 40% profit. In the jewelry business the cost is called keystone. Kay Jewelers etc sell at LEAST at 3 x keystone and I’d bet it’s higher now. That includes a 20% discount. So the key is selling items with a very low cost.

@staceyjaneway and that’s what I’ve been working to find. I’ve been studying seller with 50+ likes and high demand. I can’t make the jewelry I’m currently selling at that amount. So it’s finding out where they’re getting inventory. It’s not from Poshmark. They get 20% on wholesale. Many people are just getting rid of their clothes and get 30% of value.

@staceyjaneway but if you want to do a business with it then you need to find those sources. I’ve spent a lot of time on this. And I’m figuring it out. Selling solid sterling silver vs stainless steel jewelry with cz stones is apples and oranges. So if you find what your ‘thing’ you love is touch base with me and I’ll see if I can help you. @gramakaikai thank you! It’s been a long year being on oxygen 24/7 on a 75’ leash! They just put a loop monitor in next to my heart to record what it’s up to. Unsure if the problem is heart or lungs. But I think we may have a lead since my heart is acting up and possibly leaking unoxgenated blood. Asthma doesn’t need oxygen so it’s a mystery

@gramakaikai people just don’t get the difference between real sterling silver and the less expensive stuff that’s really selling much better but it isn’t sterling silver and the stones are not real. Those have a very low cost and a low life expectancy. I’m allergic. I tried a ring and it lasted 4 days at $20-25. So I’m going to separate the two types and make the difference clear. One may be a lifetime, the other weeks/months maybe.

@gramakaikai I’m from OK and we love a challenge! I really hate to sell lower grade items but if that’s what the people want...and don’t be fooled so much of the stuff isn’t being made by hand. And that’s how they’re making good money. Packing it up as fast as they can! Packing and collecting the bucks. But it can fund other stuff I want to do. I always got a nice trinket on vacation instead of t shirts etc. I still have them and they have value! $20 on a t shirt or silver charms, earrings,etc. I’d give up pizza out one week and get something I liked. But now I have mounds of stuff. My sons would pitch it so I’ve decided to use it for myself!! Fortunately my cousin was on the business and I’ll leave it to her!!
