Im a jewelry designer and have some lovely jewelry (and some bargains that need to find a new forever home)! I get most stones at the source in Thailand so I can keep prices very reasonable for high quality stones! I plan to share some unset stones in the next few days!! Please let your folks know. designingdeb @dchillas is she interested in jewelry? Buying good stones you and setting them in sterling can be a great way to start. I have a great ruby set in sterling surrounded by CZs and everyone thinks it’s white gold and diamonds! Also a divided bangle with 2 8 cm rubies..it’s set in simple silver but looks like white gold! Those are nice size stones! I’ll set up in my closet. Anyway, many sizes, types, colors plus what’s set!

designingdeb @dyehill60 not for sale are samples I’ve designed and are examples of my work. They are larger, more expensive items. I’m new on PM and people need to learn the quality of my work and not think it will be cheap quality to be sold for cheap prices. The items you bought were supposed to be incentives for people to make purchases. They would be free with the purchase of another item. Someone I purchased from did that and I thought it was a great idea.

designingdeb However after 2 weeks no one had used it. Some of the pictures that are not for sale, show boxes and boxes of jewelry (long story as to why..parental illness) so I’ve been cleaning jewelry to post. They were waiting for those new items. Clearly with what Posh takes and shipping $3 item sale costs me money. However we try sales incentives and learn what works and what doesn’t. I’ll have to do it differently next time.

designingdeb @bubbalulu123 Sweetheart I’ve been there and done that and still doing it. We are moving things around in the house and I went to get a box to send earrings and a bracelet. Dropped the stinking earrings. Just spent 5 hours moving, this cleaning every inch of the room or hoping to find a second pair. Of course found one. I’m on oxygen and those are the only ones that work. So I’m can’t even remember a jacket and I think I’ll live!!

designingdeb @wildflwrnwillow if you see the item where I asked you to talk to me..the middle piece has started turning green. I’m allergic and that chemical reaction will happen to me in hours. I’ve been designing jewelry for over 30 yrs. on sone you could change the French wires to sterling silver. There is a coating sold by Beadaholic that coats the wires to stop the allergic reaction. The earrings are FABULOUS!!!

designingdeb @wildflwrnwillow I wish the manufacturer would use silver or gold filled. Gold plated will wear off at least for people like me. I have to say they are So CUTE I almost want to get a pair to see if I can remove the wire and put in silver! You’re running an awesome business. Many people either aren’t allergic or just don’t come back.

I’m here for you to ask questions. I’ve been through this and that’s how I learned what I’ve share. To get ahead of it you may offer the products for the 5-10% said to be allergic. It makes your earrings so affordable!! Because as soon as I read alloy I can’t buy. Or you can coat them yourself.

It’s actually pretty! But it’s such a pain to be so fearful of buying and not making a scene for the posher. When you say alloy, peeps like me know, & 90% are clueless because it’s not a problem. I almost want to try a pair to see if I can replace the wire.....okay???

And another note: as a plus size woman, to have to go to the ‘bottom’ of the closet’ makes me feel like ‘less’...you don’t want them around ‘regular’ clothes. I’m overstating the insensitivity because I hope it will help your business.

Usually the bags, shoes and dresses are at the bottom as I have a problem selling them.😬 Plus sizes sell very well. More Poshers should carry them. Hope that explanation helps.😀

designingdeb @posh_curves that’s funny you’re so close. I just got photography lighting from a lady in northern MD! Photography is probably the biggest headache. That and the difference in quality when an item is made off shore. Fortunately I’m working on a deal to brand my jewelry. I’m not paying $2/ring and selling it for crazy money. But they all share the same photos. Hopefully now mine will be grrreat!

posh_curves @designingdeb I’m actually in Northern VA, but still in close proximity! The DMV area puts us all in a big soup bowl with each other. Imagine I live right off of 495 near Tyson’s Corner, and also very close to 395/95 Springfield interchange. I even drive up to Towson MD for one of my clients.

posh_curves I hate photography too! I have a friend in California that doesn’t mind helping me with it and she also loves sourcing fashion as well. Now that I can bypass posh wholesale, and go straight to sourcing from brand wholesale Myself (with my newly formed LLC). My good friend in Cali loves to help, because she is an educated designer but doesn’t work (benefits of having successful husband!) so I am blessed to have her!

posh_curves @designingdeb I will tell you that posh wholesale has to drive up prices to escape that 20% fee, plus add in enough to make money. Once I had my business license and EIN, and was able to go to the brands myself I was shocked at how much buying wholesale inventory here has to be surged in price, it’s a shame. This trickles down to boutiques then trickles down to buyers. It’s not good. Things need to change.

I think it not only showcases your closet but I know I get curious when one person takes the time to share a large number of items. I have a tendency to look and then end up sharing!! Another idea is to share people at posh parties. If you share 8-10 they will generally do the same for you! It’s almost tripled my followers since mid December if I do that once or twice a day!

Figure out your ‘target audience’...what category are your customers? I tried luxury but generally not my people but they share great and have lots of followers. Women works better for me. Regular folks that can spend $50+. At the party you can switch type on the left and scroll across the top.

I just had a thought..for new/shopper people..now you pick different flowers... but go to their meet the posher and just ‘leave flowers’ and say have a great day etc. If you copy before saving it will be there to paste. I’ve also started adding them on listings. I think it ‘softens’ the listing. Don’t know but I’m selling more?

designingdeb @gigissilver925 finally organize your closet so it ‘moves’ based on what is looked at. See how things change order wise to know what’s being viewed. Items opened or shared go to the top. So if you want something at the top, when you share move it last. I just turned mine upside down to see if people go down to look. Also share with people like me who you’ve talked with. They’ve added new people! Finally take time to share with others what works even if they sell what you do!

designingdeb @hillmill61 well we were under quarantine very quickly when my boyfriend showed symptoms. I’m on oxygen 24/7 so we were quarantined from each other too. Our rules were strict very quickly. We are so close to DC the fear is a shut down of the federal government..something Trump doesn’t get. We hit the peak 4/15 so we shall see. Stan goes out to shop every 7-10 days and I’m stay in. I didn’t feel well and have been tired but rest. Where are you?

designingdeb @hillmill61 everything has been the same. I was even tested to be part of a NIH study. After this pandemic I may try Johns Hopkins just because they see more weird stuff. We do know it has a stress component. My main job is as a tax accountant and Lord knows there’s no stress there! But we’re closed and no breathing drama. Who knows but I just track weird things to see. I had a heart monitor surgically implanted to track the heart in case it has a part in this.

In case you don’t know white gold is just yellow gold coated in rhodium. Silver looks the same and can also be coated in rhodium too. Lab created gemstones have a larger ‘bling’ factor than diamonds. Sona & moissanite are create as are 5A CZs.

Now the created stones are far less expensive and better quality. Personally I’d never put that kind of money in a ring again. You just can’t get your money out of it if you need it. Buy a home, college or retirement and just never tell anyone. They will never know! I have a gorgeous ruby bangle bracelet with large rubies set in silver!

designingdeb @althiascloset I found it. If it still looks like that clean it following the instructions at the top of my closet. Dawn dishwashing soap is great because it removes grease. Grease gets on jewelry from being touched by FINGERS! etc. The edges may need a very soft old toothbrush. If needed soak overnight. It even pulls off tarnish!!

It’s in a pink and white bubble wrap package...done intentionally so it sticks out like a sore thumb while still looking pretty! You can’t miss it! We can’t lose it!! It has a window to see inside. Just gorgeous!! We gotta find it. I can’t even see the tracking now just that it was delivered. I’m a tax accountant for 47 yrs with start up businesses and 95% successful. Statistically it’s 5%. So I pivoted. Raised prices and gave larger discounts. It worked. With jewelry! You can’t eat it or pay rent..but most people were really ok.

One has high end stuff but if it gets stale it goes to 5/$10..gorgeous but doesn’t work with her peeps. Works for me and I snatch it up! Now items can’t be searched. Purses need about 10-12 photos, including you modeling it on your shoulder! I swear if you put some wiggle in it someone will buy it just for that! If you look at my closet, I have around 142k followers me sharing your closet is reaching a lot of people. If you screenshot my followers listing and make it a listing for you (or do your own) ..then put it first in your closet. Share it after sharing 10 for someone. Then they start doing it! Track it!

Largest size is 8. These items are pricey so I’ll probably not order again but they were still available in some sizes. Not sure if 9 or larger was available. I wonder if that ring was an oval onyx? It almost looks like you see the edge of the setting or maybe small stones.

designingdeb @jo_lazanis okay I went looking again. Most of the rings are made of copper, brass or I know alloy that you may have an allergic reaction to or it could change colors. Then I found a decent silver ring that has a design around the edges. I drilled down th round thousands of vendors and I’ve bought from this one and he has good items. It’s next to last but I believe it’s only in size 8 and I’d need to order. Lmk

designingdeb @jo_lazanis actually finding adjustable rings isn’t impossible anymore. More people with arthritis etc and even more expensive rings are adjustable so they can be worn on different fingers. So having a size target and of you can rate what I saw so I know how authentic you want it to come close to in Sterling I may run across one. Let me know. I don’t mind looking around. It may run $40 with no further discount unless I find a crazy sale and I’ll pass savings to you.

Stones I get are also in the top 95% of quality unless an artistic thing is part of the design. Buying factory direct keeps cost low, value high. I like happy peeps!! I’m off to look. designingdeb @stephie8733 if you ask me, redo the listings before reducing prices. With so many new people, they question value and it’s not always positive. One lady does sales on occasion 3/$25 and I just saw a listing from her and looked through as I buy from her those items. A lot of the same listings were still there. Also maybe take them out to ‘rest’ and add back in 60 days with a new listing. Or maybe sell as inventory to someone else.

Also add something new every day. 8/$20 people are sources if you’re out of items. Coordinate things that compliment each other in sizes that work together. I think talking to each other and even add more to get fresh ideas. Go back to educational in my closet and read comments. But you need to understand the money part.

Depending on cost, what do you need to sell at to make a profit you are willing to work for. Then shop for it and see what like items sell for. There will be highs and lows. What’s the difference in listing? Sellers?

But market may be $15-65. Whose selling at $65? What do they have that you don’t? You need repeat traffic looking for your new stuff. You want to be the ‘drug of choice’!

designingdeb @stephie8733 look at your purchases and see if the info is there. Posh may have shut him down. I review items for them 4-6 times per month as possible fake. I’d have not looked twice at those as not Moissanite. Especially not in silver tone. You can send me better pictures of the stone as I do see a possible hearts and arrows cut but the settings are very questionable.

Looking for fresh stuff search type of item and filter price $4 and up. See if you find 8/$20. 8 items w/shipping is $3.50 ea with good listing data. No gas and that includes shipping. Some will give you a great deal if you buy a lot. It’s crazy. I sort the bundle by size/matches

For the future, I always run two of the mailing slips for that reason. Then you’ll always have contact info. You probably already figured that out!! But really forgive yourself!! I mailed the wrong things to two peeps..put in wrong bags! Only God is perfect!

The critical thing you need to do is get 20k in followers! There’s lots of info on that in my closet. You can screenshot anything I have that helps. The share 10 as your first listing is huge to get your closet seen by thousands of people. Right now few see it until 20k nor in searches.

If you are going to discount (and people want them) you must price so you can do it. 20% off, posh fees and mailing will be almost 50%. So a $40 price leaves you $20 to cover cost, your time & profit. Don’t think of this as an online garage sale..it’s a business! Even if you start out selling your things. NEVER DROP PRICES UNDER $10-15 unless you’re bundling.

I made a quarter on time and that’s when it sucker punched me that I couldn’t drop prices so low so someone would buy! Truly higher prices help sell. Otherwise people figure it’s a crummy item. The pandemic started the discount drama. For me 20% on up to 2 items works and 30% on 3+ as there’s no shipping

There are cute hats but I know they match something. It’s an elephant so, like eating an elephant, do it a bite at a time. Just go through and share house stuff only and it will go to the top. Leave you closet and it all at the top.

(Once you’ve done that part you can then use the sharing tool to share your closet since it does it another way and doesn’t ruin your organization. When you get to women’s clothing you can do by size. Leave the closet and come back. Then you can arrange by color if you want. Leave the closet and come back. Make sure you like it.

Next a jacket. Next a hat. Next shoes or bracelets. Those 6 things work together. You might even take the first pictures and put in a collage. It would be in a separate listing. You could take screenshots of the listing pictures to do it. Play with it and have fun!!

If someone is hateful about it you don’t need them in your life so block them. Sometimes I send them something extra and they appreciate it. But that sometimes backfires. They feel you did so much they don’t return. Just work in kindness. Do what would make you happy. Then let it go. 😍

Decided better to be alone than surrounded by toxic people. We did it for our face with a mask! Our bodies with vinegar to whatever! So I just ended relationships. I was scared at first. Now I’m not anxious, I’m happier. My dogs & pffs & now neighbors are showing up! Kindness reigns!

designingdeb @leesstyle I attended 5 this week. I wouldn’t rush into it. Opening bids are often sale prices. They are about 20% of listing prices so disappointing from a sales standpoint. Posh has been purchased by a Korean company. I’m seeing prices falling. So I’d hang on to the edge of the pool and watch. Good opportunity to source. Search things you want to buy and if usually $50-60 set price $1-$30.. amazing what you can buy from closets w few followers

designingdeb @txgratitude I really liked them too!! I’m at being honest and straight in the face of Posh. Ever sense they were bot by the Korean company, it’s been crazy. Add that to covid and the economy! I’ll see what happens with my payment issue in the morning. If they can’t understand that multiple rapid charges don’t look like scam activities, and it’s happening in every show, they need to buy a clue!

Then I have to get a bundle, pay that so an 8th charge and 7 refunds I need to watch that they do. It’s stupid! All for $75 purchase. It’s sad to me because they do all of this to give away their closet? I f your payment doesn’t go through you can lose the item.

leesstyle Hi Deb, @designingdeb I have tried several times to leave a review but some reason it wont let me. I enjoyed my items, can't wait to wear the poncho. The ring you resized, well sadly the stone is chipped at the corner, my gold smith said it looks as caused by the heat that it was by :( As the stone has a hair line crack across it. So sadly I am unable to wear it :( Hope your healthy and doing well.
