Vintage Miriam Haskell Carved Seashell Pendant & Chain ~ Beautiful & Beachy ~ Forget the puka shell & souvenir shop chokers and buy this piece that will last a lifetime! ~ Gold to bronze tone chain is approximately 20 inches. The shell is about 2.5" from top of pendant. ~ Chain is twisted link design. Clasp is marked "Haskell" on one side and "Patent 3427691 on the reverse (I understand this patent to be from 1965 for the clasp style mechanism). ~ "Miriam Haskell" bronze tone tag next to the clasp. ~ Pendant has about a .5" clasp that is hooked onto a filigree "cap" that is affixed to the top crown of the shell. ~ The shell is brown and cream tones with a beach scene consisting of palm trees, a ship and, I think, 2 birds. ~ For the speculated age, the shell is in very good vintage condition. The chain needs to be cleaned, but is also in good vintage condition. ~ Uncertain of age, based on chain clasp patent, would say late 1960s to 1970s. ~ I just posted another Miriam Haskell item (butterfly stickpin), if you collect this designer, bundle both items for discount! ~ Thanks for looking!
