Hi! I'm Dr. Lynn from Halifax, but have also lived in New York and London, UK - how I love big cities! I am a costume and dress historian, and am an expert in 18th and 19th century stays and corsets. doctor_sunshine @jadegold77 Hi there. My understanding is that if we try to ship from Canada to the US, it is very difficult if not impossible, and we have to pay duty and taxes. I did watch a YouTube presentation about how to do this, but it is anything but easy. However, it is on my mind, and once I am finished with listing my items, I will definitely look into it. It’s interesting you mention that, I was just thinking about it. As far as I know we can’t ship to the States. Maybe one day it will change. I haven’t had anyone contact me yet from the States. doctor_sunshine @styleinspo1234 Hi Girl. Sales seem to come and go. I think it has to do with the algorithm, but I am not sure how that works. You might want to switch some photos around so that your lead photo changes sometimes. Also, I was reading yesterday that Poshmark wants us to go with the prices that they suggest when you list items. Sometimes it says, “Suggested price not available”, which does not help. Stay the course and be patient! Things will turn around! Lynn

doctor_sunshine @shaloo64 I am involved in historical costume and dress, but have made my career utilizing it for the theatre. I have to say, historical dress is my all-time favourite, and I particularly love the fact that what you see on the outside, i.e., the gorgeous gowns and skirts and bodices, would not have the shape they seem to have were it not for the underpinnings like the stays or corsets, and panniers, bustles and crinolines. If you are curious about how those beautiful shapes arose, I wrote a book called “Stays and Body Image in London: The Staymakimg Trade, 1680-1810” - all about why and how and why male tailors shaped women for fashion in the 18th century.
