lkhshop @karlacolwell hello. The leather is a bit stiffer which allows the bag to stay structured and not collapse when standing. The widest part of the bag is in the middle of the purse and is 9”. At the top and bottom, it is about 6.5” wide. Please let me know if you have any other questions. 🌼
