donna709 For example, assuming it is the inner leather insole, as opposed to the entire sole separating from the base, but could you confirm?

mogibeth @donna709 Hi there, yes it's just the leather cole haan insole patch on the back (you can see it in the last photo). The entire shoe is not separating. It's a minor flaw that wouldn't be noticed when wearing.
