so, you log into Poshmark & browse for all of 3 seconds & immediately see that at least half of users are using stock photos frm the websites. you assume that this is OK
you upload an item that you purchased & paid for frm dolls kill & you think man this outfit looks so bomb in the pics frm the website when I bought it, lemme use a cpl those to best show off this item. Next thing u know u get an email talking about a warning against your account & your listing is no where to be found
Dolls Kill copyright hounds got you. So, tech ur not supposed to via copyright laws use ANY photos of items frm websites, but most brands dont care, it's considered a waste of time & money. well apparently dolls kill has both to waste cause theyve been going after THEIR CUSTOMERS (like seriously wtf) recently who use their images on poshmark. when they remove ur listing, u get a warning against ur account. Enuf warnings & they will shut you down. I've had this happen to a cpl of my posh buddies as well as other poshers I speak to on here. So I thought a warning post for those who dont know might be a good idea
yall be careful using those images if you value ur account. I dont shop frm them like I used to because of this mess. I mean, I would rarely use their photos anyways but it's the principle of the matter. Going ham at YOUR CUSTOMERS for something so trivial is beyond dumb

I'm currently working on taking my own (awful 😅) pictures of all of the items they removed. I get the copyright laws but it sucks that even cropped photos showing the product only, no models faces or anything- get removed. I don't buy from them anymore.
radjacketsareus
@dahliaswardrobe saaaammmme. they're gonna lose a BUNCH of customers by going ham for their fn customers. bad business model. oh hey and be careful tuo cause I had one killstar item that I used their pic as the header for and it got removed for copyright photo! and it was an old sold listing that I couldn't change or delete if I wanted to! if they start going after people sold like that a lot of closets will be closed 😡🤬☹️
dahliaswardrobe
@radjacketsareus really? ugh I haven't had any problems with Killstar yet, that's annoying
radjacketsareus
@dahliaswardrobe yep, true story. but it only happened the one time, DK has gotten me 3x. they royally suck
quiet_whisper
This is why i dont want to give DK my money directly. They make beautiful clothes but they treat their customers and supporters poorly. If i want an item from their brand, ill buy it second hand.
radjacketsareus
@quiet_whisper right, but someone gave DK money fir that item so they still profited. SOME of the private labels they have in their store can be purchased else where tho! It just boogles my mind that you're waging war against the very people that keep you in business. I think all resellers should stop buying frm them to show them what our community reeeally does for them cause I think we keep them afloat
deadlunchbox
@radjacketsareus it’s totally a dick move on DK front, but I just want to say to all the sellers out there as a pure breed BUYER like myself I prefer getting the home made amateur pics. I know what I’m getting, other than the ultra glam photoshopped “copyrighted “ stuff. We will still buy, chins up!
radjacketsareus
@deadlunchbox oh, gurrrl... when I do my photos it's a long process! It takes me about 5-10 mins to photograph one item, jackets taking the higher end! I've put legit $$$ into my studio room! I think good pics help A LOT! thanks for your encouraging words sweets 🤌💝🤘

I’ve had a listing taken down because of this too. I posted a pair of Poster Grl boots that I had purchased from Dollskill that I was looking to trade for one of discontinued ones, and I literally could not find photos of them anywhere online except for Dollskill, and my listing was taken down. 🙄 Like well, if you guys responded to the twenty times I requested for them to be restocked then I wouldn’t have done it? 🤷🏻♀️ Apparently they only feel like restocking Mad Hustle for the millionth time.
acidnirvana
Thanks for sharing this info!! I had no ides that Dolls Kill was so petty...I mean, seriously...going after their own customers? Not the smartest move on their part...
sweet_melodie
@dahliaswardrobe I think bc killstar now has their own “resurrection resale” thing on their website where customers can sell their no longer wanted killstar items they decided to start following suit.
sweet_melodie
It’s worse on D pop they shut you down fast and furious for the Dolls Kill issue- which I don’t know what caused it bc people were using their images for yearssss! But it’s a bit unfair I still see accounts with only stock photos and they aren’t penalized- but then I see other accounts I used to follow banned shut down and I feel super bad. Not that I want anyone to be penalized but I don’t get how they pick and choose 🤷🏻♀️
trainsaw99
so this is why i had listings pulled. i thought it was posh themselves lol
ncpersephone13
I don’t shop DK anymore because they got me booted from d-pop. They even reported copyright issues on listings where I used my own photos and descriptions. They suck.
shaauna32
it’s extra crazy cuz they use dolls not even actual models (typically)
radjacketsareus
@shaauna32 girl, where have they ever used a doll, not a model??? LMAO 💀 😂 💀 I'm 99.9% sure you're mistaken babes? I used to shop there for yeeeaaarrrs and still often price check in their site. never seen a doll used as a model, so maybe ur thinking of something else?
shaauna32
@radjacketsareus i was joking because they claim all their models wear a size small. but really they are all like xxs. then the plus sized models are wearing 3x or larger & u only see a very small fraction of them. they just seem to favor mannequin looking models as opposed to to killstar that shows skinny, average and curvy, and plus. dollskills sizes are already inconsistent but telling us an xxs is a small is just misleading
shaauna32
then for the whole copyright thing? what a joke!! they have been in trouble numerous times for stealing lesser known designers work and claiming it as their own. so then trying to get photos taken down for copyright infringement when their models are wearing designs that dollskill stole in the first place?
i’m not against fashion inspiring more fashion or beautiful models, it’s just that they boast being alternative and they’re totally polished and corporate
moongoddess7
@radjacketsareus I stopped buying from DK too. I have so much that I need to list, but having to take all my own pics it's going to take me a bit. It pisses me off too because I see that a TON of their items like WIDOW comes straight from Ali, including the images. I will not give them my $$ any more. I have my own store now & I don't care if people use my pics, if they bought it, I got my money now if they want to go resell, IMO fair game! A few times I challenged posh on some of the items
moongoddess7
@radjacketsareus they took down because they were my images. Posh did put them back up but still it's BS! I resell for Killstar (1 of the reasons for opening my store agothicuniverse) & they don't allow us to use their images but they don't come through & check because they are making MONEY hand over fist! DK is going to lose so much business. Maybe that's why I see them doing these live auctions starting at $1
