@karenmccabe52 It was made this way. It’s not missing. I own several tote style handbags that don’t have zipper closures. I never use zipper closures
bc when I’m carrying the bag the contents are not visible to anyone and when & or my bag is hanging on a hook. 1st photo shows how it’s made.
