Kate Spade had an effortless classic style that was simple, fun, colorful, & bold coupled w/a very distinct, graphic logomark based on her initials using minimalistic letter forms as whole & quarter circles & a chic arc accent to mimic the circles of the ‘S.’ The logomark was used as a bold, graphic monogram pattern on bags throughout her collections & was aptly referred to as “Dot Noel,” after her middle name. The 'Dot Noel' is a fading memory even to those who remember, almost now vintage & is no longer used after Coach took over implementing their current iconography of a spade for the mass consumer market. Now the 'Dot Noel' pieces of the Kate Spade line are highly sought after by avid collectors!
