A 38mm Omega Seamaster. Nice watch, but stops often. It's in need of servicing, which I will never get around to. There's a little scratching on the caseback (see photo). The price being more than $500 means the watch will be authenticated by Poshmark before being sent. With proper servicing, you will have one hell of a nice watch. The leather band is brand new.

jfdeatherage @patrickroth It has been authenticated, so that's a guarantee.

patrickroth @jfdeatherage can you open the back of the watch so I can see the movement/engraving? Also how do you know it is authentic
Jul 31Reply
jfdeatherage
jfdeatherage @patrickroth It takes a specific tool to open the back that I (or most people) don't have. I had the watch authenticated by Tim Makrain, the watchmaker at OmegaAddict. To check him out, the website is omegaaddict.com.

patrickroth @jfdeatherage can you post proof of authentication? I mean 400$ is EXTREMELY cheap for a omega

jfdeatherage
jfdeatherage @patrickroth No way I'm going to be able to find what I did with that paper. The reason I'm selling it so cheap is because as soon as you get it, you'll want to send it to have it serviced. I don't know what that might cost, so I'm trying to make it so that in the end, you got a good deal on a Seamaster.

patrickroth @jfdeatherage you are going to have a hard time selling this without any authentication papers or opening the case back… let me know if either of those things change and I will gladly pay 510$ for it
Aug 01Reply
jfdeatherage
jfdeatherage @patrickroth I can't do either of those things for the reasons I gave you. Plus,I believe Poshmark has a serious policy when it comes to trying to peddle counterfeit goods. Please let me know if you change your mind.

patrickroth @jfdeatherage so you wouldn’t be comfortable sending this watch out to Poshmark for authentication? I would be willing to pay over 500$ if that’s the case… not to mention it only takes a extra 3 days for there authentication process
Aug 01Reply
jfdeatherage
jfdeatherage @patrickroth How does that work?
Aug 01Reply
patrickroth
patrickroth @jfdeatherage anything purchased over 500$ gets sent to Poshmark HQ where they have experts who will authenticate the watch and provide a appraisal.. then they send it to the buyer.. if it’s a fake then they simple ship it back to the seller

jfdeatherage @patrickroth So I'll just raise the price to $510 and have tou bid on it. Sound good?
Aug 01Reply
jfdeatherage
jfdeatherage Not bid, I meant purchase. If you want to buy the watch, it is now priced at a point that will send it to be authenticated.

gerald1947 $300? And I’ll buy it now

jfdeatherage whoops, I read that wrong. $400 will get there,

jfdeatherage
jfdeatherage Let's split the difference at $350. That's fair.

gerald1947 @jfdeatherage ok, thanks anyways. It’s too much risk. I have no idea what’s wrong with it. I can’t see the movement. Service on Omega cost anywhere between $200 and $300. if it requires any parts, it’ll be more than that, especially since it’s vintage sourcing parts isn’t as easy as one might think.

gerald1947
gerald1947 @jfdeatherage even 300 is more than what I’d like to pay for a non-runner, but this one has a cool blue dial. And that’s kind of unique.

jfdeatherage
jfdeatherage @gerald1947 Ok. I'll sell it for $300. You've got a deal.

gerald1947 @jfdeatherage I countered your offer, you’ll have to accept I didn’t see that you change the price lol
