goopy1 @melodyteddyb I can’t believe you apologized. You’re too nice.

melodyteddyb thank you. I just am so hopeful when I get a like, then give an offer for barely over what was the cost plus fees and nothing happens. it's a big let down. idk I just figure I at least feel like an explanation is better than nothing. feel like common courtesy will pan out in the long run

goopy1 @melodyteddyb Yes, I had someone offer $5 for a $10 item. When I explained how it wasn’t worth it to me to pack label and ship to make $3, she bought it for $10. Posh is dying a slow death.

melodyteddyb @goopy1 yes it seems so. very slow on here. what I can't understand is why poshers sell everything for 5 and 6 dollars. what do you possibly make off of that. and then your time for what? Just to say you sold a hundred items here. all that does is hurt the rest of us trying to make a living or supplementing an existing one. my stuff is good quality stuff. if there is a flaw I call it out.

melodyteddyb I also don't understand why they undermine name brand clothing and put low prices on it. Just for example, go to a white house Black Market store and try to buy a dress for $12. that's what the average is selling for on here. why? because of the ones that underprice their items. I suppose again for sales. they surely are losing money and hence we do too.

goopy1 @melodyteddyb Ever since Poshmark was sold, it’s been going downhill. What finished it off was the live shows that they continue to shove down your throat. It’s become a garage sale where items start at $5 or even $3. Poshmark encourages this. It’s not worth it to me. That’s why I am done at the end of the year. What doesn’t sell will be donated. My sales are mostly dead anyway.

goopy1 @melodyteddyb I’ve been having better luck on another platform, De pop. When I started, people would just buy items outright. No offers, no haggling. I’d open the app in the morning and have a really good overnight sale. That doesn’t happen anymore. Now the feed is all live show notifications, which I HATE. I’ve watched some and they don’t sell much of anything, plus it takes forever and is a huge waste of time.

melodyteddyb yes I have noticed this. I only do silent ones and I don't give my stuff away. Haven't done one in a while though. I watch some of the lives and you are right about garage sales. some are still going with not having garage sales. I just started on here about 3 months ago. I notice a lot being a seller elsewhere if you pick up on what I am saying

melodyteddyb I hate you are leaving. you seem so nice and so in tune with what is going on. I have been in wholesale and retail most of my life. quantity is not always the answer. it is for them but those of us that try are suffering. and the fiasco they just caused totally stopped sales. I know you saw that too. I have a rule I try to stick by. I won't have a garage sale on my site. try to make the best of everything and don't give up until the boat has sunk. please stay. maybe our voices will be heard!

melodyteddyb another issue I have is followers. you can have millions but if they don't Share what is the purpose. and who has time all day to sit and share. I tried posh sidekick but they had my closet messed up and out of order. I keep my closet tidy. I have high expectations and try to keep them that way. I wish we could be heard. let them know that it's the true sellers that know what is going on. we are the backbone and money in the pocket turns into greed and they forget about the backbone

melodyteddyb Just don't give up! I will try and help. I will share your items. I hate to see you go. I would love to show them how it's done. this $3 and $5 stuff isn't getting us anywhere except no sales. I started off fair but in a downhill slump myself and that shouldn't be, not this time of year. yes it's lining their pockets but what happens when the company is turned into a flea market. no poshmark used to be quality over quantity

goopy1 @melodyteddyb The other reason I am quitting is taxes. When they started 1099- ing people it created a lot more trouble for my husband who does our taxes.

goopy1 @melodyteddyb You really are too nice. I will be divorced if I don’t quit at the end of the year. I will miss it bc I really enjoy it and I am retired so it gives me something to do.

melodyteddyb I just tried vestiaiare. I stopped after listing two items. for a $29 dress my payout was $16. they were taking $13. that's almost 50%. no way am I giving up that much

goopy1 @melodyteddyb I’ve sold 6 items on De pop in 2 weeks. Two of them at full asking price. Plus there are no selling fees! It’s a different group of buyers, younger I think.

melodyteddyb maybe or did you already cross list there. I may try that too. I have a few on mecari no selling fees now but promotion costs. not sure. slow there too it seems
