Let me start by saying these are not Irish Setters, these are the ORIGINAL Red Wing Classic Moc boot created before the Irish Setter in 1952. They have the durable Traction Tred rubber out soles, puritan triple stitching, and a Goodyear welt to make an unparalled high quality work boot. They are built with a little extra room in the forefoot and instep to fit a variety of foot shapes. These were my personal work boots I wore for 1 work season (a long summer) operating heavy equipment in Alaska. There are a few superficial nicks and dark smudges on the toe and heel areas. They never fit me quite right, likely because I am a woman, so I found something else and just kept them around for 22 years in my storage hoping that would change! Ofcourse it didn't! So here they are on Poshmark.. not worn much with MANY years of use to look forward to if you take care of them! These are super clean and the already treated Red Wing leather has been rubbed with Skidmore Leather Cream for an extra layer of protection. I have included the inner soles I used. They are in good shape, and have been laundered. I just want who ever buys these to be able to immediately put them on and go to work if need be!

I like red wings because the soles are good for my back surgery.
I’ve had a couple pair , but unfortunately I can’t opt for 22 yr old boots at your price or even $100. Thank you for the info

@naxcess Well, they've been in storeage for that long and worn very little. The leather is factory treated and hasn't deteriorated one bit, and the soles are in great shape. I never expect to get the price I initially ask, but less than $100 is a little low for what they are.. 🤷♀️😆

@gypsykaren618 let me ask my nephew. He needs a pair of work boots and he just had a surgery and going back to work.
gypsykaren618
@naxcess OK, I'd love to see them go to someone who really needs them. 😊

@gypsykaren618 do you actually have any pics of the size and style? We’re a bit worried of the age and if the soles have aged after 22 years so that there not as supportive?
gypsykaren618
@naxcess I couldn't find the size label; It must have worn off.. I can measure the boot sole for you though and maybe you can compare it to what you have? Maybe I can take a quick video of me flexing the boot sole? It does appear to have any cracking, softening, or degenerating.. they were up in Alaska in storeage, not here in AZ, where I would be more worried about that sort of thing happening to anything rubber or elastic for sure. I'll have to do the video and or extra pictures tomorrow. 😊

@gypsykaren618 thank you for your reply. I look forward to hearing back.

@naxcess Hey there, guess what? I found the size and serial # in a sort of obscure place on the outside tongue of the boot. I will ad a picture of it in the listing. I'll see if I can post a video as well..
gypsykaren618
@naxcess If there is something specific on the boots I can video for you, let me know. The soles are definitely nice and firm with no cracking when I twist them around. Its some pretty tough rubber! I wish I could wear these to work around my stable but my old lady feet have grown in length! dang it! 🤣😂

@gypsykaren618 I was just showing the boots to my nephew. his work suggested some red wing boots, or anti slip Dr martens.
He accidentally pressed the buy now button & completed while looking & we had to quickly cancel. Sorry for the mishap.

@gypsykaren618 .We did some price comparison on newer used style boots and there are many.
Yours look ok for 22 year old boots , but pricing & thoughts of how long they might last after already being older is a concern especially for the price.
Maybe we could possibly negotiate the price lower we would be willing to take a risk on them.
BTW, thanks for putting up the video & extra size pics & so on. That helped

@naxcess thanks for your continued interest, I appreciate that. I know from my experience with horses and horse tack, anything high quality will last for generations if well taken care of. I have 50 year old bridles that are well used, but have been taken care of since I was a child that I still use today! A standard for a pair of heavily used Redwings is about 2 years..

@naxcess I'll shoot you an offer and we can negotiate a little. Keep in mind, PM takes 20%. I'd like to make a little $$ to put toward another pair of boots! 😉
