BROWN ICELANDIC WOOL COTTON GRASS CARDIGAN by GJOSKA DESIGN WORKSHOP Made in Iceland with no two exactly alike. This product is created from all Icelandic materials, labor and design. 100% Icelandic wool, machine spun and knitted. The fabric is hand decorated by needle felting using unspun merino and silk fibers in a design representing the Bómullargras (Cotton Grass) that grows throughout Iceland. The cardigan wrap is closed by two magnetic snaps on each end of the collar. It is attached from shoulder to shoulder. Then the collar is folded over so the Cotton Grass decoration appears on the outside as well as the stripe down the back. Only those parts with decoration are felted but those without are unfelted. Icelandic wool is naturally breathable and regulates body temperature. It is a resource which has kept the Icelandic people warm for centuries. It was in fact the only textile material available for common people until the 20th century. But it is a good one. The wool of the Icelandic sheep consists of two kinds of hair. The soft inner layer used for underwear and clothing and the water repellant. The long fibered outer layer is used for outerwear and for long lasting garments. Hand-wash and flat dry.
