Sumptuous eighties ‘Hermés' commemorative silk scarf with patriotic French Revolution red white and blue themed print. The scarf was commissioned by Hermés in 1989 to commemorate the French Bicentennial. The full title of the artwork by Joachim Metz is ‘République Française Liberté, Egalité, Fraternité 1789.’ The scarf features figural and regalia decorations in gold on a bright red background with other accents of red, white and blue. There is a bright royal blue border with beautifully hand rolled edges. A true collectors piece! Vive la France! MEASUREMENTS: 89cm x 89cm This item has been measured flat.
