Funky and fun piece - etched bone beads that I suspect are faux bone, chunky silver tone beads and a genuine dark grey/black fossilized shark tooth as the focal point. The color is a tip off - Fossilized shark teeth are black, whereas normal shark teeth are not.
At the least, this tooth is 10,000 years old (the fossilization process takes at least that long). At the most, this tooth is millions of years old. Most fossilized shark teeth date from the Late Cretaceous (100.5 to 66 million years ago) and Tertiary periods (66 to 2.6 million years ago).
This is probably a homemade artisan piece. Hard to say age. Perhaps a surfer somewhere found the fossilized tooth and created this necklace to showcase it. So cool! All the beads slide easily on the cord.
Strung on thick black fiber cording. Tied casually at the back making it adjustable. At full length this cord is ~25”/26" but can easily be adjusted. The tooth adds an additional 1.5” drop.
Super funky casual beachy fun piece. Well dang - my husband just saw this and has claimed it so - no longer for sale - If he changes his mind, I'll place for sale again.
