Vintage Delft Blue Dutch Hand-Painted Ceramic

This particular "Regina" Delft hand-painted jar has a natural gorgeous craquelé (a pattern of fine cracks on a material's surface.) The blue is very vibrant against the glossy white finish. It is absolutely beautiful and meant to be displayed somewhere open and not hidden away in a dark cupboard - but, of course it is up to you ;) Delftware, is a type of blue and white pottery that originated in the Netherlands in the 16th century, particularly in the city of Delft. It was inspired by Chinese porcelain, which was highly prized in Europe at the time. Delftware is characterized by its distinctive blue designs, painted on a white background.
