thick, clean ( I have gently wool washed, no fragrance mild detergent and low heat dry, then put in sunshine).It has been used by myself, cared for and stored. I have one I use as a pillow for sleep, perfect for neck pain. this could also be used for comfortable sitting. it has two small tears in the skin as pictured, I would not consider them a problem. 40" long×25"wide
