About the Artist:
Jeanne Fingerhut was a talented artist whose work includes a wide range of mixed-media pieces, cut-out collages, and hand-colored etchings. Her art reflected her deep interest in strong compositional elements, layered patterns, and intricate design. Her pieces can be found in numerous private, corporate, and public collections both within the U.S. and internationally. Sadly, Jeanne passed away in 2002 after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer.
Born in New York City, Jeanne Fingerhut began her academic journey at Barnard College, where she earned her B.A., before continuing her studies at the University of Paris - Sorbonne as a Fulbright Scholar, earning her M.A. Though her passion for drawing and painting began in childhood, she initially chose a different path. Instead of pursuing art, Jeanne focused on teaching foreign languages, with a particular expertise in phonetics and academic research.
Eventually she came back to the creative world and explored various artistic fields, including textile design, illustration, and hand-painted fashion. While balancing the demands of raising three children and working in the realms of art, music, and language, she remained dedicated to her painting, exhibiting her work in New York throughout the 1970s. In 1983, she moved to the Pacific Northwest, where she fully committed herself to her art.
This framed art piece is great condition and professionally framed. It measures 11.75" X 13"
