Vivienne Westwood vintage Gold Label Blazer, c. Early 2000s Excited to finally share (and part with) one of my favorite Westwood pieces from my archives. The legendary designer has never been one to shy away from provocation. But through this divine sculptural blazer, Westwood takes it to another level. Perhaps because this is Gold Label her most prestigious line where her couture artistry rings truest. This jacket has all of Westwoods design hallmarks, just amplified to the max. The bustier neck line is enhanced with a dramatic, sweeping standing collar, and, of course, these exaggerated projected bust inserts that almost feels conical, The sharply contoured silhouette is defined by architectural pleating that cinches the waist before flaring into a peplum-like hem. Rendered in a metallic black fabric (not leather) with a liquid-like sheen. Gold orb buttons punctuate the front.
