Very Rare and Hard to Find, Circa mid to late 1800s Gutta-Percha Mourning Bracelet with a Clear, White and Peach colored Genuine Quartz Heart Charm. Gutta-Percha is a rubber like gum made of the resin derived from trees in Southeast Asia, mainly Malaysia. Highly flexible yet durable, it was employed to make Mourning Jewelry in the 1860's, as it gained high popularity after Prince Albert died. This Heirloom Quality Treasure is in Excellent Antique Condition. It measures 8" long and the chain measures 1/2" wide. The Quartz Heart itself, measures 5/8" x 5/8". The rose gold filled old clasp has some expected gold wear however, it adds to the beauty of this particular 125+ year old Antique. Rare Indeed. Item J69.
