betsysbeautybin Hey! Newbie here. May I ask a question on shipping?I have some plates I’d like to sell. How do you ship these? Do you just charge $5-10 (in the price?) more for the weight and request a new label it from Posh? Thanks!

ecochic_curator @betsysbeautybin Happy to help! Indeed that’s what I do or just create a second shipping label and communicate that with the customer that that’s what we need to do.

betsysbeautybin @ecochic_curator Thanks Ivy! When you create the 2nd label it has to be after the purchase though right? So how do you collect the payment? ☺️

ecochic_curator @betsysbeautybin No problem 😉. So the extra shipping label is for when it’s a bundle because most of my items are huge and shipping them in one package is not advisable both from the sake of package security and the weight limits. So when I print very their bundle I communicate that it’s priced even lower to accommodate the second shipping tag

ecochic_curator @betsysbeautybin After that you just collect the payment the regular way, thru your account

betsysbeautybin @ecochic_curator I guess I’m confused where you add that price for them so that you’re not having to pay extra later out of your pocket. Just put it in the overall price? So for example I had 2 pairs of shoes and the weight was going over 5lbs. I had already made the sale so I did not generate another label and ended up putting it all in the same box without shoe boxes.

betsysbeautybin @ecochic_curator So it sounds like when you bundle you have to think about how heavy it’s going to be before you send the offer. Because buyer isn’t going to know you’re generating another label for $10. They’re just paying the $8 flat rate correct? Or does Poshmark send them something?

ecochic_curator @betsysbeautybin If not a bundle, so like the set of dishes above, they are already above 5 ponds and after secure packaging will be way above 5 pounds. Knowing that, indeed I have the extra shipping baked into the price. If I do not , I tell the buyer I cannot sell below a certain price because then I would be making a loss.

ecochic_curator @betsysbeautybin Is that helpful? I apologize if I am confusing you further 🥹

betsysbeautybin @ecochic_curator Yes!… I get the extra shipping cost worked in. Just confused about the bundle. It sounds like regardless in all cases of heavier weight you have to either request a 2nd shipping label ($8 for the 5lbs), or upgrade to a larger weight shipping label which starts at $5 I think per lb extra. So just important to do the cost workup before sending an offer it sounds. Thanks for your replies!
