St John satin pants

In 2011, I attended the 53rd Grammy Awards as a nominee in the Best Jazz Vocal Album category. This was my first of three nominations. I was incredibly excited and I did something I'd never done before and have never done since: I hired a stylist to help me shop. The stylish suggested a pair of St John's pants for the nominees' reception. On the way to the reception, first I got my hair done and then I stopped at Bloomingdales—wearing this outfit—to get my makeup done. They were in the midst of some kind of Chanel promotion. I am not what you'd call a fashionista, and after the makeup person was done, I was standing at the counter and heard four words I never expect to hear again in this lifetime: "Are you with Chanel?" :-D I have not worn the pants since, but that was a happy occasion, so they carry some good vibes.
