This striking Southwestern pendant features three large, oval-shaped what I believe to be .. Morenci turquoise stones, known for their vibrant blue hues, set in a substantial 925 sterling silver design. The silverwork intricately frames each turquoise cabochon with elegant scrollwork and floral accents, showcasing traditional craftsmanship. Weighing approximately 12 grams, this handcrafted piece exemplifies classic Native American-inspired jewelry, with a prominent bail at the top for hanging on a chain.
The measurements of this piece are 2.36”L x .97”W x .23”D. Please note the 5 mm desert pearls in the photos are for illustrative purposes only. The bail measures 9mm. This piece is absolutely spectacular!
Morenci Turquoise is known for its beautiful blue colors, which can range from light to very dark blue, and it often features a distinctive matrix of iron pyrite, or "fool's gold," which appears as irregular, often silvery-looking patterns when polished. This type of turquoise was mined in Greenlee County in southeastern Arizona, and the mine is no longer operational, making it a collectible variety.
Please be aware that I am not a gemologist. I research the jewelry I list and try to accurately represent my pieces as honestly as I am able.
