Antique Silk Damask Shawl

Handwoven Damask Silk. Leaf and flower pattern. Heavy weight. Brought back from a "Round the World Trip" by my Great Grandfather in the 1950's. It may have been new when he bought it, or it may already have been old. We just don't know. Given the era, we suspect that this was hand woven by an Artisan. It has been in storage for decades, possibly since it was bought. We have never seen anyone wear or use it. We also had never seen it until we started the downsizing!
