Authentic and vintage gelang kana (armband) locally made by an artisan I met while living in Indonesia in 1987. It is an interpretation of Garuda, the protective mythic God bird, which is the emblem God of Indonesia. The god is benevolent. According to local beliefs, the bracelet( (amulet) gives good luck & protection against evil. The Indonesian dancers wear those bracelets high on their upper arms to highlight their intricate (and difficult) arm movements. The true colour is closer to the one on the pictures with the white background. Adjustable size. I purchased to use as a memento decoration but never did use them so they are "new" despite being vintage. Stored away from light and dust all those years.
