FAUX fur coat from the 40's

My grandmother had some EXPENSIVE taste for a young woman from a poor family in Australia during war time. She was born in 1917 so I suspect she bought the coat after she moved to Melbourne in 1939. I'd say it's from then or just after ww2. Knowing her, it would be from some flashy boutique in Melbourne. I've been trying to find out more about it from my family but most info is forgotten. I DO know that she had to put it on LAYBUY and pay it off in increments before taking it home. It's in phenomenal condition and I have worn it on occasion but it's tight on me. The entire fur coat is FAUX but looks and feels so real and would have been top of the market back then. No moth holes, immaculate stitching and is slightly fitted at the waist. Also insanely insulating, I wore it walking around Whistler in winter once and got too hot.
