Hallmark The Old West Pop-Up Book

The Old West pop-up book published in 1970’s. Hallmark Cards began producing pop-up books in the mid 1970’s after acquiring the company Graphics International that was started by Waldo Henley Hunt (1920 – 2009) who was the leading developer of pop-up books in the US. Movable books have been around at least since the late Middle Ages but later became considered the stepchild of children’s book – Waldo Hunt changed that taking the long marginalized and long unprofitable publishing genre and making it a thriving industry. Hallmark published more than seventy pop-up book titles from the mid-1960’s to 1980 – this book being a brief history of the American west.
