Iwate Home Spun: Lamé Tweed has a white base overlaid with cool-colored thread and accented with two colors of lamé yarn. The name Home Spun refers to the tweed fabric’s hand-spun and hand-woven feel. Starting with the dyeing of the yarn, the textile is made entirely in a small factory in Hanamaki City, Iwate Prefecture.Glittering lamé yarn, silk threads, washi paper, and other threads of varying strength and materials are all woven together in a meticulous process about 1/3 the normal weaving speed. This slow speed allows the material to retain air and keep a soft, pleasant fluff. The handle includes a broad ribbon, and the interior is a warm red.
The Drawer Pouch Áne (AH-nay, “older sister” in Japanese) is the size of a wallet and opens accordian-style. The Áne works great as a wallet for your cards and bank books, but it’s also perfect for storing other smaller items, such as writing accessories, tickets, and headphones. It even has enough room to store a Hobonichi Techo Weeks book.
