I was sad to find out a few years ago that textiles make up a shocking amount of US waste. The EPA reports that Americans generate 16 million tons of textile waste per year with 10 million tons sent to landfills, 3 million tons incinerated and around 700,000 tons sent overseas, destabilizing local, developing economies. All of this contributes to greenhouse gas emissions and economic waste. (Greenamerica.org) Knowing this, I’ve decided to try to reduce, re-home, reuse and buy second hand. - Dani
