Injiri, meaning “real India“, historically stands for “real madras checkered textiles“ which were exported to West Africa in the 18th century. Injiri clothing brand believes in the beauty of hand weaving processes. It is about storytelling, the end point is reflective of the journey of the craft. When founder Chinar Farooqui started Injiri, it was with a desire to form long lasting liaisons with Indian textiles through her work and ongoing explorations in regional and ancient techniques. This dress is from the Taanbaan collection. The graceful kaftan dress is created from hand-loomed organic cotton with a traditional Jamdani technique. A glorious celebration of embroidery in pink, yellow, and green motifs on the lightest cotton muslin! * This dress does not come with a slip, but a slip can be easily found at Walmart or other intimate stores.
