kasbowi @artinesia Thanks for your kind words and I'm happy to meet you. I got married later in life and we weren't blessed with children, so that accounts for some of the time and money to travel. My visit to Africa was a church mission trip and Korea was a Christian school choir tour. The rest was mainly exploring. Sounds like you live in a beautiful place. I imagine it's lovely in the winter.

Sometimes I think people are hesitant because some of my prices are so low, but I am tending to build a following. I love both Israel and Ireland, the first because of the connection to my faith and the second because many of my ancestors originated there. I'd planned a trip to Germany a couple years ago then couldn't go because of knee surgery. Maybe for the best??

kasbowi @mimmy53055 Kim, I'm also German on my Dad's side. The came to the America much later than my Mom's Irish folks -- sometime in the late 1800s. A German with the same last name actually served as a Nazi prison guard at one of the camps, possibly Treblinka, but I can't remember for sure. The modern State of Israel is one of the good things that came out of it, though. You'd probably enjoy visiting there.

kasbowi @mimmy53055 Even though we lived in DE for 20 years, we never made it to the Holocaust Museum in DC. But we've been several times to the one in Israel -- Yad Vashem -- which means "enduring memorial." It's very moving, especially the Hall of Mirrors that commemorates the deaths of the children.

In fact, when they were considering me for "Suggested User" status one of my listings was removed because it mentioned emailing. So how about asking your questions either here under my profile or under your own (tag me if you do)? There aren't any dumb questions and my ansers could also benefit other poshers.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 You're welcome, Christina. And I'm honored that you would want me to mentor you. I got "suggested user" status about a month ago. I think that means my profile and closet show up on a regular basis on the PM feed. I didn't request it, so they must have some sort of system that flags a closet after a while. The main thing that's changed is my followers shot up from about 2,500 to over 11,000. Haven't really seen an increase in sales yet.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 I'm the one that mentioned email. It was my first low rating. A young woman bought a pair of pants without obviously checking the length measurement. Then she left me only 1 or 2 stars because they were too long. When she didn't respond to me on PM, I offered to correspond via email. That's the one listing they removed when reviewing my closet.

armygirl1025 Good morning karen, sorry to bother you so early but i guess one if my biggest problems is that i'm not computer savvy and i don't have a clue how to customize my closet, is there an app or something. I'm clearly still living in the 80's when there was no technology, lol! Also, why do people have things listed not for sale. Thirdly, how do you adjust bundle prices, do you just change the prices?

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Hey, Christina. Easiest answer first ... "not for sale/NFS" listings could be messages or different categories of clothes. When they're listed at $0, PM automatically puts a NFS flag on them. But with individual items, that can mean a couple different things. There may be an active offer in process. Or the seller could be reserving it for someone. Or they might have sold it on another platform (eBay, Tradesy) and want to leave the listing up for people to see.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Re: bundles. Look in the phone app under "My Seller Tools." Click on "My Seller Discount." You can set your bundle discount according to percentage (5-30%) and minimum number of items. Mine is usually 10% because I don't have a big markup on resale. Every so often I do a 15-20% "sale." That's worked better for me than marking down individual items, though I do that too if I've had them for a long time.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 The best way to customize your closet is to look at a whole bunch of them and note what you like and dislike. Most of the ones I like have great pictures and some sort of organization to make it stand out. (One of my favs does it by arranging her items by color.) I've organized mine by size and by category and like the latter best. And I move them around to change up my closet every so often. Pics in next message.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Good pics are a constant challenge and I'm still learning. Good quality (still figuring that out) and great layout are most important. Again, check other closets for what you like and don't like. Then check out the Poshmark blog (https://blog.poshmark.com/) and do a search for "photography." There's a wealth of information there. You can also google "Poshmark" and "photos" and other good stuff comes up.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Other thoughts. Some customized closets "watermark" all of their photos by putting their closet name in text on their pics. Here's just one example -- https://poshmark.com/closet/nkhob. There are tons of photo processing apps to add text, improve photos, etc. My favs are Photo Editor and Photo Editor Pro. kasbowi @armygirl1025 Tagging is if I'd see something (or be selling something) a Poshmark friend would like and I do an @... with their closet name. That shows up in their news feed and notifies them of the item. Look at the red dress I just sold and you'll see in the comments that I notified all the poshers who liked it that the sale price was ending. That's "tagging."

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Not sure why everyone marks items Not for Sale. Sometimes it's because they sold it on eBay or Tradesy or somewhere else. (If I sell something elsewhere, I remove the item.) Or they could be holding it for someone. You could try asking them; I think most poshers would be happy to give you an answer.

armygirl1025 @kasbowi hi karen, how are you, good i hope. I'm getting ready to finally start my closet. Question for you though and I want you to be honest with me. The other day I placed an order for 2 items 1 was $30 the other was $5 and she offered a 15% discount, with the discount it was $29.75 and I offered $27 she declined and said she didn't appreciate me low-balling her. Was that wrong of me. I never had a problem with offers before and I don't want this to happen again, that really upset me.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Hi Christina. Not sure how to answer because every seller is different. I consider offers of 10-20% off to be pretty fair depending on what my markup is. I get offers sometimes of 50% off and that is definitely "low balling" in my book. I usually just decline them without comment. I will tell you, though, that I get aggravated when folks want another dollar or two off of an already reasonable -- or very low -- price. Maybe that's what was going on with your seller.

I do unsterstand the 10-20% but is that in addition to their discount or before the discount. Like i said, if i bundle items, i sometimes offered a few $$ less and have never had any problems. I just don't want to come across as one of those low-balling cheapskates. I will definately let you know when i get started.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 The 10-20% would be before the discount. I think the original purpose of the bundle offer button was for purchases from sellers that don't give a discount with bundles. I did that for awhile sometime last year when I put most of my stuff at rock bottom prices. For a bundle discount of 15% I might not ask for anymore off unless I thought the items were much too high. I still don't think your offer was at all low-balling and you just ran into a grouchy seller.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 On the other hand, there could be a good reason. I ordered a top a few weeks ago that I was anxious to get to see if it went well with a jacket I have. I asked about shipping a couple times and then the seller let me know her child had the flu. I'm on the PM site so much I just assume everyone else hangs out here, too. Not always the case.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Hi Christina. It's so great to hear that you're about to take the leap into selling on PM. And please don't ever worry about too many questions. New listings are added into the top of your closet and not the bottom. I try to do at least a half dozen of them at a time and then I put up category "marker" for New Listings. I keep them there a couple days and then move them into the right category. That's done by either "re-listing" or sharing in the order you want them to be.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Regarding sharing. First of all, your followers are getting swamped with all kinds of listings in their feeds. If you don't share a lot -- parties and followers - your listings may not get noticed much at all. The exception is when you share to your followers' dressing rooms. That could get tedious and I hardly use it at all. More in next post.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 If I want to make good sales, I share 3 times a day. In the morning I do "relisitngs" - bring up each item, hit "edit listing" and the "update". Even if I don't change anything. It gets the listing back out in to the general PM feed. I either do this early or throughout the morning. Then I also share during 1 of the afternoon parties and also the evening party. I try to vary times remembering the difference in zones.

kasbowi @callmedeedee Hi Deanna. Boy I wish I'd done the artwork myself! But I only collect it - mostly paintings from mid-century. We are renovating an MCM home for retirement and I love the era. The jewelry is my design, though, but I don't have as much time because Poshmark keeps me really busy. And yes, travel does inspire me. Right now hubby and I are planning a trip to Italy next year for our 30th anniversary. Thanks for asking.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 I believe that you can only share to your individual followers from you own closet. You will have to have listings in order to do that. Then when you click on them to share, a list of your followers closets will also come up so you can share to them. Does that make sense?

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Some could have that many shares because they've been doing it for 5-6 years. But one woman at Poshfest said she tries to share 10,000 a week. You can do that by going into a closet from your feed and sharing a lot of their listings. Or as I said above, do a search of things you like and share from those closets. Or in the phone app, go to "find people" and share from the list of options there -- My Brands, My City, My College or New People.

It's wise to scroll through a person's closet and make sure that they're Posh compliant -- that they don''t do transaction off site or have unsupported (replica or non-fashion) items. I don't share from them if they are non-compliant..

kasbowi @armygirl1025 They stay on because PM doesn't know. And there's a lot that sell kids stuff that post toys and stuff that should be on eBay. There's a way to report the item or the user and I do that sometimes. I usually share 2-3 items a day from other closets. Its' done individually. From the phone app hold your finger on the item. From computer click on the arrow symbol at lower right of pic. Options are to share to your followers or the current party.

kasbowi @armygirl1025 Thanks. A PA is now what they used to call a Suggested User. Apparently the qualifications are higher - more shares, more sales, etc. Since gaining that category, I get hundreds of new followers almost every day. Sweet!

I was happy to choose your Vera Bradley set as a Host Pick. it means that when people check in to the Best in Bags party from today they will see your item in the Host Pick section. That's the couple hundred items the co-hosts have chosen and it give your item and closet more attention. You can apply to be a co-host for a Party here: https://blog.poshmark.com/2014/08/01/posh-parties-the-faqs/. But be patient; it took me over 2 years to be chosen.

Plus, my husband and I lived in DE for 20 years with his sister in Richmond. So, we've visited VA a lot. For the future we mainly want to explore the western part of the US, which we don't know well.

kasbowi @susiedarling We almost always do art related trips. Museums and galleries and studios are lots of fun. Last spring we went to Italy for our 30th anniversary. I just loved it, especially Florence and Tuscany. I'd love to go back again but don't think I can convince him. We hope to do Arizona one of these winters.

Someday I'm going to make that big gem show in Tucson! Here's how I do pics. 1. I try to take them (with the camera on my phone) in a spot with a lot of natural light. I noticed yours are kind of dark, so doing that might make a difference for you. More following.

kasbowi @dgilbert1021 2. I transfer the pics to my laptop for initial staging. Microsoft "Photos" has a pretty good and easy editing feature - allows me to adjust lighting, color and clarity. It's really good for pics taken on dreary days. 3. For most pics I do a third step, transfer them back to my phone and use an app to do collages. I mostly use Photo Editor - a free app but it has a bunch of annoying ads. That allows me to add on my closet logo on the side and any text, etc.
