Long Gemstone Necklace in Navy Blue and Brown

All of the shades of the beach are incorporated into this long gemstone necklace, from the darkest midnight blue to the palest tan. I used iolite, moss aquamarine, scapolite, citrine, champagne citrine, whiskey quartz and smoky quartz for the gemstones; and freshwater pearls in three shades of blue and copper. I chose the beads carefully to blend seamlessly from one colour to the next, the entire way around the necklace. This necklace brings to mind the sand, surf, water and sky, and is perfect for a beach wedding. Some of the gemstones are AAA quality, while others are a rougher cut. Some are smooth and others are faceted. The pearls are nugget-shaped, which are flat on one side and rounded on the other. I love the juxtaposition of fine and imperfect, and it makes the piece much more interesting. The perfect touch for an elegant beach wedding, or just as a special splurge for you! There is no clasp on the necklace, which allows you to position it many different ways, highlighting in front the colour that you choose to show. The length of this necklace is approx. 37" (94cm) and is considered opera-length. My mannequin is life-sized and should give you an idea as to where the necklace sits.
