Long Purple and Green Wire Wrapped Necklace in Sterling Silver

Many shades of purple and green are incorporated into this piece, from the darkest grape purple to the palest lavender; from dark forest green to the softest mint. I used amethyst, pink amethyst, green amethyst, ametrine and prehnite for the gemstones; and freshwater pearls in several shades of sage, orchid, grey and green. Some of the gemstones are AAA quality, while others are a rougher cut. Some pearls are nugget-shaped, which are flat on one side and rounded on the other; while others are almost perfectly round. I love the juxtaposition of fine and imperfect, and it makes the piece much more interesting. There is no clasp on the necklace, which allows you to position it many different ways, highlighting in front the colour that you choose to show. The length of this necklace is approx. 30" (76cm) and is considered opera-length. My mannequin is life-sized and should give you an idea as to where the necklace sits.
