MCM Hand-Carved Live-Edge Wood Centrepiece

Lovely hand-carved solid wood centrepiece / bowl. Not sure of the wood species — I consulted a luthier who said it seemed to be rosewood, perhaps even brazilian rosewood. Contacted a wood worker friend who suggested same and some other possibilities but nobody seems really sure! Priced according with uncertainty this piece is possibly worth much more.
