I am a former print graphics designer who changed purpose and direction and became a registered nurse late in my career. I love to paint — both traditionally and digitally — and write. I’m new to PoshMark and trying to learn how it all works. Any advice would be appreciated.

bobbieloft @miriam_nicastro Thanks Mirian. I just created an account today. I thought I would give it a try to see what so many are talking about. I’m not really sure how this all works. All of a sudden, I have hundreds of people following me unsolicited. I guess the incentive is to follow others to build up a network. Don’t non-followers get to search by item…or is that only limited to followers? One other question: why does my profile say that my main offering/interest is “women”?

bobbieloft @miriam_nicastro I mainly wish to sell my artwork (originals, lithographic prints, and gicleés) to ANYONE. I will also list some other home goods and gently-used clothes of my own for men (I lost 102 pounds, so lots of items no longer fit me). Thanks for any advice and/or a “how-to” help link.

bobbieloft @tori_jo_823 Thanks for the heartfelt welcome. I’m really stumbling around here, having just opened an account two or three days ago. I need to understand the entire shipping, payment, and commission structure in order to proceed. Perhaps I can read some of the Help or Frequently Asked Questions. Thus far, I’ve been frenetically scrambling to follow back those who have followed me. This seems to be a recommended course of action.

bobbieloft @tori_jo_823 I have also tried to share an item or two from the closets of those whom have shared my one post (the signed lithograph of my original oil painting “Flow”). It’s funny. I have two degrees, am bilingual, yet feel like an absolute Neanderthal here because I do not know the protocol…how it all works. The journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step.
