vickchick98 @debbiemom22 I’ve removed the Birkenstock’s you questioned. My husband and I will be checking with our friend who sells these at her shop to find out more. I would never intentionally sell anything counterfeit. These were a bit large on me and I wanted to sell them. I’m not trying get more than I paid for them either and I’m certainly not in competition with anyone. Good luck to you and I hope your closet does well.

If the seller refuses to refund you, you could always go through the site you purchased them on or through your bank/credit card company to dispute the purchase. Most places offer buyer protections for this type of situation. If you need help with the dispute or if you find another pair of Birkenstocks in the future that you want to verify authenticity before purchasing, please don’t hesitate to ask. dollhousellc Hi Debbie, I just got screwed by a gypsy seller with a pair on birkis that they accepted my low bid ! I emailed Poshmark, thanks to your note you left us all, but Poshmark has not replied! I’m sooooooo upset, I want my money back now! Do you know if these scammers are getting my personal info???? dmo_22 @dollhousellc I’m so sorry that this happened to you! Every single person that I have spoken to that purchased one of these fake listings were able to get their money back. It may take Posh a few days, but they will definitely get back to you and refund your money. They are fully aware of these scam listings and what’s going on.

dmo_22 @dollhousellc As for the personal info, the only thing that they would have access to would be your name and address. Usually that info could be accessed with a quick Google search, but fortunately there’s just not a lot that they could do with it. It doesn’t hurt to check your credit report periodically to make sure that you haven’t been the victim of fraud, so I would recommend doing that.

dmo_22 @dollhousellc I use Credit Karma. It’s super easy to use and it’s free to set up a basic account. They contact you any time there’s been a change to your credit whether it’s a change in your credit score of it there’s been a new account opened in your name. dmo_22 @x3gwen The biggest giveaways for the scam listings are: - There will only be one size in the photos and description, but the listing will have every single size offered - Brand new accounts with zero feedback/love notes - Between 141-145 followers - No response to comments or questions - Profile pics are often young women I hope this helps!

dmo_22 @x3gwen At first the scammer was only listing one item per fake account, but now they’re starting to list 4-5 items per account. They are always high end items. Usually the scammer is keeping the accounts separate for each type of fake listing. One account will have Birkenstocks, another for LV bags, another for Moncler jackets and so on. The scammer is using bots to create accounts, so they don’t enter favorite brands or a location.

If Posh wants you to get a second opinion or if you want even more evidence for your case, you can get a free authenticity assessment in a Birkenstock Store (an actual Birkenstock Store, not just a store that sells Birks).

barbiemartha @debbiemom22 that’s super helpful! I’m emailing right now! Unfortunately i bought them in sept/oct and only looked them over- I got a 39 because my other 39’s fit perfectly. These are huge so I just relisted! I so do appreciate you’re help! Hopefully posh can help me since they don’t support unauthentic items. We’ll see! ❤️

I did finally eat back from posh and even though so much time had passed they issued me a refund for the fake Birkenstock. I would have never known had you not told me and I would have never been able to articulate why they were fake. I try my best to inform people so that they know because nobody deserves to be taken advantage of that way. The biggest giveaways are brand new account, exactly (or very close to) 141 following, no feedback as buyer/seller, never replies to messages, and will usually only have 1 listing in addition to the “meet the Posher”. Out of all of them, the 141 following is often the best tell. They use bots to create accounts and post listings, then will follow the same 141 accounts every time. If you go through with the purchase, be sure to watch tracking.

dmo_22 @marcishemaria They will still send out a package, but it is usually an empty box or may contain a cheap item like a disposable mask. They only make money if a buyer doesn’t dispute within 3 days after delivery. They don’t make money off of every sale, but they apparently make enough to keep doing this. I hope that helps.
