I have been trying to get platinum highlights for the last year but I am just not achieving it! I think we have similar coloring so I was just wondering. Sorry so weird! 😜

thrifted2death @seafoamsafari Thanks for the props! So I do my own hair & sadly it’s just bleach & TONER. My friend is a stylist & gets me professional stuff to use. After I bleach I tone with Paul Mitchell Ultra toner platinum blond. This takes out all the orange brassiness from my hair turning it platinum or a cool blond. 👍😁

thrifted2death @seafoamsafari Also, You can use any brand of toner just stick with cool tones. Golden blond is a no go for my skin tone. Your stylist will know what’s up.

thrifted2death @seafoamsafari Just moisturizing shampoo then a purple based conditioner. The purple shampoo works on brassiness but is REALLY DRYING. You could go to any beauty store and there should be a few good conditioners with purple and or blue in them. The JOICO brand is amazing! Hair masks, Color Balance conditioner. Both really good. 👍👍

thrifted2death @seafoamsafari The same thing happened to me. After several appointments over several months & literally thousands of dollars I had dirty blond hair. Not blond. So I took things into my own hands and boom! Blond. Tell your stylist that you want blond hair with a bunch of platinum blond highlights. Ask if they think they can achieve it and how long the process will take. 2 visits? 3? 4? Let them know you are okay with bleach.

thrifted2death @seafoamsafari Oh toning. Once you get your desired blond color you could tone with a purple hair mask at home. I do it every 2-3 weeks. It totally refreshes your cool tones and makes the grow out look nicer. Good luck!!

I say platinum and I show pics and it’s so not there! I have dark hair so I get that it may take several visits plus maintenance. But it’s just not progressing! I don’t get it!!
