sweetmaggy love the bag I bought from up . Can you please share what products you use to make the leather so soft and shiny?
Mar 21Reply
lsm914
lsm914 @sweetmaggy the shine come from buffing with a horse hair brush. I can sent you links if you want to know which one i used. I cleaned the bag with Feibings yellow saddle soap, Then conditioned it with leather CPR while it was still damp. Once the CPR dried ( about an hour ). i buffed the bag. the buffing after the CPR gives the softness and the glow.

lsm914 @sweetmaggy you need to make sure bags are cleaned and moisturized before you buff :-). but don't over clean. That bag , because it's old, should be moisturized with leather CPR every 6 months to a year to keep it nice.

sweetmaggy I use the saddle soap and leather cpr but can't get the leather to feel like so soft .what other products do you use ?

lsm914
lsm914 @sweetmaggy It's the buffing. I will occationally use black rock leather and rich on piping or chamberlans leather milk on a scratch. But no joke, i buffed that bag for days. I use the CPR, buff. let it sit for a week. More CPR, buff , let it sit for a week and keep repeating this until the leather feels the way i want. You need to wait a week in between each CPR so the leather has time to absorb it. I swear, it's the buffing

kagervasi Lauren, Hi, What a vintage Coach bag collection! This is when "leather was leather!" I truly dislike the new bag material. Whatever it is. Lol I particularly like your purple taco shaped crossbody!
