I’m sorry you feel that way about your purchase. I have a 5 star rating and never lie about my items. Perhaps the “weird thrift shop” smell is from being stored in a closet. They were purchased for my husband and they never fit him, hence never being worn. Feel free to try to return them, I don’t want any of my buyers unhappy.
